Bathtime!

Last week, Mr. Pibbs was smelling a little like a dog--causing the apartment to also smell a little like a dog.  So I had a little help in bathing him.  It was really hard to keep him calm in the tub, so it took two people to actually bathe him--one to do the bathing and one to keep him calm (and sneak a few photos).

This is the Mr. Pibbs before getting completely wet.
As you can see, he still moves fast in the tub.

All said and done, I am really impressed with the CVS dog shampoo that was picked up for me.  It is a ginger-oatmeal scent, and the smell still has lasted a week.  Definitely dogs are more spoiled with their bath products than I remember from my childhood.

Sleeping Pibbs

Enjoy some photos of the sleeping Pibbs

Speaking of Clothing...

The people who gave us Mr. Pibbs gave us a hat that he "likes" to wear.

Obviously his head has grown since we got him

Mr. Pibbs is begging us not to put this on again.  Obviously it's time for more items to be bought in its place...

Clothing

It's getting cold here in Chicago so I had to go to the pet store last night and buy some extra coverage for Mister Pibbs.  I bought something a little more temporary since he will still be doing a lot of growing over the next few months:

He wasn't too satisfied when he first tried it out.
He's a little too short for his PJs at the moment, so he had some adjustments at first.
And then he started working on his pathetic face to try to get out of these earlier.  Unfortunately he has yet to realize that this backfires and just makes him look cuter than normal

Head tilt Pibbs

Today I was goofing off with Mr. Pibbs

I wasn't really whistling any song in particular.  Just trying to keep his interest.

The food bowl

Mr. Pibbs must have known that I had my camera out and I was going to write about him eating.  Because two seconds before I took this picture, he stepped on the rim of his bowl.  This resulted in the bottom of the bowl and his face meeting.  And the resulting photo is below:

"Stop taking pictures of me while I'm eating!"

Of course since he's a pug, he went right back to eating rather than being too scared of his bowl.

Mister Pibbs and Kong

Whoever created Kong toys is a genius.  Finally Mister Pibbs is agreeing.

Crate Training

Because of how comfortable his crate pad is, this is usually what happens when I put him in the crate:

And as a result, the few times that I have tried to get him used to being awake in the crate:

Lately though, he's become a bit more relaxed.  We have him up to about 5-10 minutes of me in the other room before you start hearing him get anxious.  Granted he enjoys sleeping in his crate or watching me cook or clean the kitchen from the crate--as long as the door is open.

First day home = pooped

What I was expecting on the drive back from Indianapolis to Chicago with Mr. Pibbs:

What I actually received:
A sleeping Mr. Pibbs.  (I will avoid lap shots in the future, but we were in a car)
We did stop at the local pet store to get a new collar, and he was paraded around the store while I received a lesson or two from the store owner.  But after that, he was pooped again. He went straight into his crate (without any coercion except Gator and Moose being placed in there):

"You expect me to eat, right NOW?!"
I was a bit disappointed because I expected a tornado to rip through my kitchen last night.  Instead I had a dog who pees in the yard wherever placed and willingly goes into his crate.

This morning the only noise he made was to go outside again.  Then he chased my feet around as I was cleaning the dishwasher in my long kitchen.  After that and breakfast, he cannot even stay awake to play with his ball:
