Tapeworm

Alright--no photos of the actual tapeworm (I promise).  But I noticed some rice-like things appearing in Mr. Pibbs' crate after he would sleep there overnight.  I didn't think anything of it, since I recently washed and dried his bed.  It wasn't until yesterday when he was starting to have unpredictable BMs that something had to be up.  His final yield for the night produced part of the culprit--a tapeworm.

I'll admit at this point I didn't know it was a tapeworm, so I thought it was a lot worse than "just" a tapeworm.  So I called the vet this morning and took him in for an appointment, along with a few poop bags and the "rice."  The staff at the clinic, once they got over the fact that the famous Mr. Pibbs was coming for a visit, got a good laugh after me admitting that I felt weird a) talking about my dog's poop, and b) then giving them a bag of dog poop.  Needless to say, the vet looked at the worms and the dried bodies of the worms (the rice-like items in the crate) and knew instantly that Mr. Pibbs has tapeworm.

Fast-forward to lunch, Mr. Pibbs gets spoiled and now gets to have a mixture of his usual food along with Dave's 95% premium chicken wet food so that we can give him the Panacur powder and know he's eating it.  Honestly, I have never seen him happier with the challenge of emptying his food bowl.
Mr. Pibbs, actually enjoying his medicine.

Update: So apparently I don't know how to feed a dog canned dog food and I fed him way too much. He's happy with his normal dry dog food, so I need to try to stick with that the best I can.  Poor guy.
